In 2016, a combat veteran and a pack mule named Richard founded Café Mulé. Laid off the previous year by a sheep herding operation, Richard had time to sit in a pasture and think about the world. Some things troubled him. As a herd animal, Richard wanted to encourage people to spend more time together. Having lived outside since birth, Richard wanted to see people get outside and exercise more.
So what did Richard do? He started a free, pack mule powered, coffee service on local trails. Richard lacked opposable thumbs, so he partnered with a former military officer (who, importantly, could brew coffee). The community loved it, and Café Mulé accidentally became a coffee roasting business.
This channel exists for those who love horses, mules, and donkeys or coffee or the outdoors or small business... or all of it! We seek to add value through sharing knowledge where we can and insight into ours and others' business journeys.
