Wan Shey is an African rapper and spoken word artist hailing from the Nso’ grassfields in the northwest region of the territory popularly known as Cameroon. Wan Shey is remarked for his delivery of lyrically powerful stories, seamlessly flowing between four different languages (English, French, Pidgin English, and his Lamnso mothertongue), expressing himself in a manner of multilingual communication that is common to the streets in his homeland.
Wan Shey’s music is embodied in a fusion of the urban with the deep forest. Tribal chants, jungle rhythms, and trap beats are never strangers in his world. Wan Shey tells tales of trials and triumphs in surviving as a human and coming up as an artist in the hot heart of Africa.
