Just a quick reminder that your dream body might weight 10-20 lbs more than you think, so stop stressing when your weight goes up and measure progress in inches, not pounds
Same amount of training, different intensity and nutrition
When i just started my fitness journey, i would believe that in order to have a visible sixpack i have to eat “clean” and low carb. I would cut completely foods like burgers, ice cream, anything containing sugar. I would restrict fruits and starve myself on 1500 kcal.
I was constantly anxious and easily annoyed. I would think about the food all the time, binge eat on weekends, live in constant calorie deficit for years.
Did i have a sixpack? Yes. Was i happy? No.
Now i eat 2500 kcal, train better, look better and much more happier. Finally i’m not obsessed about food and carbs and can afford (calorie wise) grapes and juice. I’ve been avoiding juice for about 10 years because my fear of “liquid sugar”
And i didn’t get fat when i started eating more carbs and more in overall. Obviously, i gained about 3-4 lbs, but that’s not fat. Just glycogen, stored in muscles and water it holds.
About 70% of my diet is meat, chicken, fish, eggs, cottage cheese, milk, buckwheat, rice, potatoes, pasta, veggies and fruits
And rest 30% is ice cream, crackers, marmalade, burgers and pizza
If someone told me i would eat and look like this few years ago, i wouldn’t believe. So it’s not age or genetics guys, it’s just correct approach to nutrition.
Long ago, when i was skinny fat and wanted to get fit and lean, had no education and totally relied on internet, that told me about how sugar is bad for the body and what foods to avoid to get lean.
And i trusted. I followed “clean” diet, i was meal prepping, counting everything. I was craving. I was dreaming about those donuts. i started avoiding parties and friends, because i was overeating there. Holidays was a nightmare, i was gaining weight in days and couldn’t stop eating and then, when i finally stopped, my diet would get even more restricted.
I got lean and fit, but i was miserable.
After giving birth i gave up. I decided fuck it, i’m going to be fat. And i allowed myself to eat.
My eating habits didn’t changed much, i still had lots of protein and veggies in my diet, just added all that forbidden foods - bread, fat cheese, sugar, ice cream.
Never quit training though
Did i got fat? Not as bad as i thought. But i definitely was much happier.
Education changed everything. I started looking at food in aspect how i feel and perform, not how i look and it paid me back with best looks i ever had. I eat everything, i actually ate a bucket of haagen dazs while writing this, even when i’m cutting weight. It’s not a genetic, not some secret secret of weightloss, just simple calorie deficit and macros in balance
