Hippie Chick Off Grid Maine

Homesteading Alone off grid in Maine isn't for the faint of heart. It's made up of long hard days and nights. Daylight, dark, rain or snow, things have to be done. You wake up tired and you go to bed tired, but it's worth every bit of the blood, sweat and tears shed. As middle-aged woman, I fair well. I grow and raise most of my own food to help self-sustain. I also work a full time job and a part-time job outside of the homestead so there's not much time to rest. I believe if one wants to live their dream, it can happen in some way or another. If one has limitations, they can live vicariously thru others. I hope you Enjoy this channel enough to hit the subscribe button.

Tom is the man! Love this guy. This is an excellent video to watch and learn from with a whole lot of common sense. Survival is key to seeing tomorrow. https://youtu.be/vQz8e_xYlzI?si=eUshK...

Unfortunately we are being forced to put up POSTED signs (no hunting signs) due to people ignoring no trespassing and private property signs already in place. If they asked to hunt, that would be one thing, but when we encounter them, and they have an entitlement attitude, they try to tell us it's none of our business why they are in here and what they are doing. We have never had to put POSTED signs up before because most folks have respected land owner requests, but now....most feel entitled and give you an attitude. POSTED signs only keep the honest in check, and the not so honest, angry and sneaky. How hard is it to at least have the courtesy to ask permission instead of the 'I want to, I'm gonna and try and stop me' attitude....and people think if the world should go to hell, people's attitudes will be nice....nope, that's when people get even more entitled and things get even more problematic.

I really appreciate this lady homesteader. Well worth the watch folks, if you're into watching 'going back to basics' videos.

Breakfast at work: potatoes, onion, green pepper, beets, sweet potatoes, salt/pepper cooked in Ghee, and all Grown/made from home except for the salt/pepper. This meal beats boxed cereal any day of the week. So good!

The lack of common sense in our society astounds me. I think I jaw drop at least a couple times every time I'm out in public. On a more positive note....it makes me feel more intelligent when I'm around these folks! The dumbing down is real "me thinks" !

Fall is a great time of year to make your cornstarch! If you grow corn or buy it for fall decorating, corn is easy to come by right now. Why not make your own cornstarch? I know many of you already do, but for those who want to try something different and fun, here's how it's done. https://youtu.be/wTp3_WlyNxs?si=mmmrv...

I ran across this and found it interesting. If you have diabetes, and like molasses, this might be a good video to research further on. I don't have diabetes, but love molasses! Also, if you have diabetes, you may want to also research dandelion tea. I know of quite a few folks who manage their diabetes with 3 cups of dandelion tea daily combined with eating right and daily walking. Just thought I'd share and something some of you may be interested in researching further. Hope you all are well. https://youtu.be/spdv3WQSc8A?si=1Vi6c...

10 - 12 ducklings hatched out over the weekend and 3+ weeks over her hatch date. Nature sure is wonderful.

"How unspecial I am" is a quote I'm borrowing from this channel. I came across this channel over coffee this moring, and I'm glad I did. This video, I'm sharing here, is one we should all watch. It's only about 6 minutes long and well worth it, IMO. The ending gave me chuckle, but I got his point.
