Sharing Strength for IBD Awareness

My name is Sophia Levine, and I'm a junior in high school in southern California. I’ve had IBD since I was 6 years old, being originally diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and recently re-diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. I’ve been passionate about advocating for those with IBD since I was young, participating in Take Steps and speaking at events. This illness has had a significant impact on my life, and through my AP Lang class, I decided to start a passion project about the isolation IBD can cause young kids and teens to feel, and how we can eliminate it. I hoped to use this project to spread awareness and advocate for kids with IBD. In association with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, I’m part of the first ever Take Steps Youth Leadership Committee.
