Alan Pirie is a Scottish artist, sign painter, and designer based in Norway, mixing traditional craft with bold, no-nonsense design. Working across hand-painted lettering, illustration, chalkboards, and airbrush, his approach is hands-on, detail-driven, and rooted in doing things properly—no shortcuts, no templates.
Also working under the name Samurai Guinea Pig, Alan creates raw, character-led visuals for independent businesses, bands, and anyone looking for something real. His work ranges from walls and windows to custom pieces, always built with a strong sense of style and a respect for the craft.
He has worked as a resident designer for legendary U.S. punk band Suicidal Tendencies and exhibited within the New York Hardcore scene, including a 2022 show at Sena Tattoo.
Traditional skills, modern edge, and a D.I.Y. mindset—work that’s made to stand out, not blend in.
