Meritorious Prof. Dr. Farrukh Hussain, born in village Yar Hussain District Swabi, did his F. Sc. in 1969, Edwards College Peshawar, B.Sc. (1971) Gordon College Rawalpindi; M.Sc. (1974) and PhD (1981) from Peshawar University. He remained Post-Doct. fellow at Colorado State University USA during 1989-1990. He joined University of Peshawar in 1974 as a lecturer and retired as Meritorious Professor/ Dean in 2011. During this period, he remained 3 times Chairman of Department of Botany, Founder Director Centre of Biotechnology, Director Centre of Biodiversity and Botanical Garden, Peshawar University. He was Founder Chairman Botany Department Bacha Khan University, Charsadda.
He published 7 books; 451 research papers in national and international journals. He supervised 18 PhDs, 50 M. Phil and more than 100 M.Sc. /BS scholars. Dr. Hussain remained member, GS of many academic societies. He was reviewer for many renowned journals.
