Bob the Science Guy is a Science Educator on YouTube. His background includes medicine (he is a semiretired Internal Medicine Physician) and he is currently a full time university student majoring in Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics. He is an advanced amatuer astronomy with his own observatory- in addition to his main tasking of imaging and tracking asteroids and comets, he does frequent live streams with his 14 inch telescope and has a 24 hour livestream of his radio telescope (Radio Jove) and radio meteor detection (on his Shamrock Banks Observatory Channel).
Dr. Bob enjoys apply science to conspiracies such ass the flat earth and encourages his viewers to do their own observations.

This is final exam week, and the weather is bad. During Winter break, I'll be doing some telescope work with the Sun over on Shamrock Banks Observatory. But the good news is that there is some minor activity in the flat earth community and I've got a couple of videos I am interested in doing.
I'm going to look at a 'we see too far' video of a power plant in Ohio across Lake Erie. We'll also look at the mathematics of the 'distance to the horizon' calculation. For fun, we will have a look at the idea of dropping a rock into a hole drilled completely through the earth and learn some surprising facts.

I am very pleased to announce that I have obtained a sponsor for the observatory. Woodland Hills Camera and Telescope has been my preferred supplier of everything astronomy for years, and I use their equipment for every live stream and observation. From time to time, I'll mention a specific piece of gear and give you a link to the listing at WH.
For those of you interested in getting into the hobby, one piece of kit I have recommended many times is the SeeStar S50 from ZWO. This is a very reasonably priced (little more than $500), yet high quality and fully automatic telescope. Everything you need- telescope, mount, camera and even a solar filter in something you can toss in the back of the car to get you observing.
I have an excellent observatory, but I am going to get one of these this spring for remote use. Put it on the ground, power it up and link your iPad to it, it does the rest. It aligns itself, finds any available object you ask it to look at, and starts imaging in minutes. Check it out and tell them Bob sent you....

I have been doing some work with SDRMusings in Minneapolis on meteor detection and the aurora. Would the 'Bob the Science Guy' be interested in a live stream about this with both of us talking about what is going on? There are some really interesting aspects concerning the orbit of earth around the sun (you can demonstrate that with this equipment), radio propagation and such.

Nerd Alert! This is the radio telescope and meteor detection stream from Shamrock Banks Observatory. On the right is the radio telescope, on the left is the meteor detector- you can see one (vertical white streak) about 1/2 way down under the red frequency line.
