It's sexy. It's sweet. It's gonna kick your ass!
Rock and soul band Sweet Leda is powered by the sultry, commanding vocals and electrifying stage presence of Julie Cymek, who draws comparisons to "Adele mixed with Mary J. Blige, with a certain South Of The Mason-Dixon Line ache that's all her own". In 2011 the SL released their first full-length album Need the Music, was named "MD/DC Band of 2011" in Tri State Indie's Music Awards, voted "DC/Baltimore Best Emerging Artist of 2011" by The Deli Magazine's Reader's Poll, and recorded the song "Lovely Molly" for the film Lovely Molly, from Haxan Films (Blair Witch) and producer Mark Ordesky (Lord of The Rings). What a year! In 2012, Sweet Leda added tenor-saxophone legend Ron Holloway (Warren Haynes Band) to their summer lineup. RUN—do not walk—to www.sweetleda.com to find out more!
