My Relationship With Alcohol Ended 6 Years Ago This Thanksgiving 🦃🥂➡️🚫
This one was a personal decision that took courage and I don't share it to judge anyone — I share it because it genuinely changed my life. My relationship with alcohol ended 6 years ago this coming Thanksgiving and it was one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. Alcohol is one of the most underrated agers out there — it dehydrates your skin, disrupts your sleep, affects your hormones, and adds empty calories that go nowhere good. Six years later my skin, my sleep, my energy, and my clarity are all so much better. I share this humbly — everyone's journey is their own! 💕

What Too Much Sodium Is Actually Doing To Your Face And Body 🧂😱
I'm not a doctor or nutritionist — just someone who reads a lot of labels! But keeping my sodium super low has genuinely made a visible difference and I think it's worth sharing why.
What excess sodium does to your LOOKS:

Causes fluid retention that makes your face look puffy and swollen — especially around your eyes and jaw
Creates that permanently tired "bloated" look that no amount of concealer can fix
Breaks down collagen over time leading to premature wrinkles and sagging skin
Reduces circulation giving your skin a dull, grey, lifeless appearance
Makes dark circles under your eyes significantly worse
Causes your ankles and hands to swell making you look and feel heavier than you are

What excess sodium does to your HEALTH:

Raises blood pressure putting strain on your heart and arteries
Makes your kidneys work overtime trying to filter the excess
Causes chronic dehydration even when you're drinking water
Increases your risk of heart disease and stroke over time
Disrupts your hormonal balance
Makes weight loss significantly harder because your body holds onto water weight
Contributes to bone density loss over time — especially important post menopause!

The sneaky part? Most sodium doesn't come from your salt shaker — it hides in processed foods, sauces, condiments, deli meats, canned goods, and restaurant meals. You can be eating what feels like a perfectly healthy meal and consuming a shocking amount of sodium without even knowing it! 😱
I started reading labels and it genuinely transformed how I look and feel. Your face may thank you within days of reducing sodium — the puffiness can disappear surprisingly fast! ✨

The Fat Situation — Even Healthy Fat! 😂
Oh this one makes me laugh because I really thought healthy fats would be fine! Nope! My hips have absolutely no interest in the difference between healthy fat and unhealthy fat. They just see fat and think "yes please, we'll take that!" 😂 Even avocado has to be carefully monitored around here. My hips have NO boundaries and zero shame about it! 😂

Why Strict Keto Stopped Working For Me After Menopause 🎢
I want to share this because I struggled with this for a long time and felt like something was wrong with ME. It wasn't. Before menopause estrogen helps your body burn fat really efficiently — like a well-oiled machine. But when estrogen leaves? That machine gets a lot more complicated. Your body starts storing fat differently especially around your middle and your liver has to work much harder to process dietary fat. So even though strict Keto works beautifully for many women it simply stopped working for my post menopausal body — and that's okay! 😤

The Keto Flu Almost Took Me Out! 🚛💨
I tried so hard to push through the Keto Flu and I just couldn't. Without estrogen my body struggled so much harder to adapt to fat burning that it hit me like a truck and kept me from living my life. I wasn't just tired — I was completely non-functional! If this has happened to you please know you are not weak — your body is simply responding to a very real hormonal change!

Why Even Pure Protein Kicked Me Out 🙋‍♀️
Here's the part that really confused me — even pure unadulterated protein would kick me out! How is that even fair?! 😂 Well here's a simple explanation: after menopause your body can get more aggressive about turning protein into sugar for energy. So even the cleanest protein can cause an insulin response. This is completely hormonal and 100% not your fault ladies! Please don't be as hard on yourself as I was! 💕

Why I Don't Believe In Diets — I Believe In Eating Healthy 💪
I'm certainly not here to tell anyone what to eat — we are all so different! But what works for me is eating healthy flexible Keto — low carb, low sodium, lower fat even the healthy fats — and listening to what MY body actually needs rather than following rigid rules that were never designed for a post menopausal body in the first place. It's not a diet. It's just eating in a way that makes me feel good and that I can sustain for life! ✨

The Old Dog New Puppy Myth Is Real! 🐕💨😂
I have to give credit where credit is due — my husband Shawn who is 18 years younger than me deserves a lot of the credit for keeping me moving! You know that old dog new puppy myth? Turns out it's completely true! That man keeps me moving whether I like it or not and I'm genuinely grateful for it even when I'm pretending not to be! 😂

It Takes A Village And I'm Grateful For Mine! 💉✨
Finally — and I say this with complete honesty and zero shame — I believe in working WITH what you've got AND calling in the professionals for the things you simply cannot do on your own. My cosmetic team handles the things that no amount of walking, low sodium, and carefully monitored avocado consumption can fix!
It truly takes a village friends. A village, some good habits, a sober Thanksgiving, a wonderful younger husband, flexible Keto, and a really talented cosmetic team! 😂

I have to be honest with you — I tried so many keto French toast recipes and most of them disappointed me. The texture was wrong, the flavour was off, or they just didn't feel like the real thing.

Then I stumbled across a few carnivore French toast recipes that actually caught my attention. Some used cottage cheese, some used cream cheese — so naturally I tried both. Cream cheese won. Hands down. 🏆

Then the Keto Baking Mechanic maneuvers began. 🔧🍞

I adjusted ingredients, changed proportions, added new elements, and completely reimagined the technique to create a microwave version with that perfect oven spring, soft custardy centre, and genuine bread-like texture.
Several versions later I finally landed on something that genuinely stopped me in my tracks.
