They called him The Piano Prince of New Orleans, The Bayou Maharajah, The Ivory Emperor — a classically trained prodigy who wove together gospel, blues, jazz, and boogie-woogie into performances that were as unpredictable as they were unforgettable.

Despite his genius, the often erratic behaviour meant Booker was overlooked during his lifetime, with few official releases.

This channel is dedicated to sharing my collection of rare live recordings and performances, all the joy and all the pain of the one and only James Carroll Booker III
