Board Critic was born from the endless quest to find the perfect surfboard. How much rocker, low profile or boxy rails, 31L of volume or 30L? I was constantly asking questions of my equipment and was fortunate enough to know the people that could answer. I thought if these questions plagued me surely other surfers were seeking similar information.
As a grom I swept the shaping bay of a small coastal town shaper, annoying as any grom is, he tolerated me and answered my many design questions and fueled my obsession for wave riding. Al Bruce, I'll always be thankful.
