I made this video after realising that I had started taking a lot of medical advice from AI and felt AI is brilliant since it is answering everything that I ask. I realised the dangers of doing this after I started putting in tax queries into different AI platforms because being a tax expert myself, I could easily make out all the errors in the recommendations given by AI and that is when it hit me that the medical advice I've been taking from AI seemed so nice not because it was perfect but because I'm not an expert in that field and thus, unable to make out whether the advice is actually correct or not.
Takeaway of the video is that while AI is definitely helpful, it helps those immensely who are experts in that specific field. In the hands of layman, its consequences will just be disastrous!

A lot of you messaged me after this video to find out what happened to our case against Delhi Government. While I did mention that I got a refund of Rs. 1,00,000 within a week of filing a writ petition against the government, what happened to the recovery of Interest? Did we fight for it? The answer is NO. Let's understand why.
A "writ petition" is used to compel the government or public authority to perform a duty it is legally obligated to perform. It cannot be used to recover damages/penalty from them. Hence, the max I could do with this petition is to recover 1 Lac plus Interest but not the Damages on account of delay and harassment on part of Government. Recovering just the Interest by pursuing this Writ Petition for years ahead made zero sense.
To recover Interest PLUS DAMAGES, I will now have to file a case against Delhi Government in either the Civil Court or the Consumer Court wherein I can get both Interest and Damages. Now, one might wonder that why did I not take this route in the first place to claim Principal + Interest + Damages? Because writ petition is disposed much faster that other modes of litigation. Hence, we filed write to recover at least the principal quickly, which we did within a week and now, we can sue them for Interest plus Damages.
Even though the legal team handles all this, I still have to oversee the process which takes time and my work commitments don't leave me with a lot of time to invest in all this. The purpose behind making this video to educate you all about how government builds all these mechanisms to deprive you of your own money and use the same to its advantage and also tell you how you can legally get it back.
Do you feel I should pursue the case for Interest and Damages?

For employees, leasing a Creta for 26 Lacs is much cheaper than buying one for 20 Lacs. How cheap you may ask? Cheaper by around 8 Lacs!
I've explained the math behind this in this video where we dive deep into the numbers behind this and understand how Taxation Laws are enabling people to save lacs in taxes.

You might have heard stories of clients not paying the fee & then tax consultants having to pursue them legally for recovery. While there are people like those, there are some good stories as well like Mr. Chandra Ji who happens to have paid twice the amount of fee that he owed us.
As a consultant, I keep on telling my students that you're not responsible to just make your client win the case against department or to just tell them the final verdict on whichever matter they sought your opinion. You are also required to keep them in loop and explain transparently why you are doing what you are doing in their specific case. The better you explain them the areas of exposure and all other fine details, the better they will feel with you handling their case.
To be able to explain the law, you need to know the law. You cannot resort to passing by rote learning and then expect that clients value your services. Put in your heart and soul into the subject and it will offer you the career of your choice.
Happy learning! ❤️

A lot of times, I find students messaging me about inconsistencies with taxation law that I teach them in class and tax related content that they consume in reels, posts etc.
While the differences are mostly because of incorrect interpretation of law, they sometimes are because practical application of law is a little different from what you read in your syllabus.
Regardless of what the reasons for difference maybe, I feel that even these queries on differences in interpretation deserve to be answered to ensure that we understand taxation practically and not limit ourselves to what is taught as per the syllabus.
I am taking this initiative to roll out a Google Form which will be live perpetually through which you can send me all questions or even links to any videos/posts that you encounter in life and want me to express my take on that topic.
While I might not be able to answer all queries due to limitation of time, I will try and answer as many queries I can by recording a video on that topic or by messaging you personally.

After my latest video, a lot of you expressed interest in talking about the burden of tax that the middle class is having to bear because of tax evasion by lower and upper class. We can definitely have a detailed discussion on tax borne by those earning between 10 Lacs - 2 Crores with some stats and find out if catching tax evaders can actually give any relief to the middle class.

This is what I was referring to as a Day Fine in one of my videos. While this might be a little too much, speeding fine of Rs. 2,000 cannot be the same for everyone irrespective of their income otherwise fines lose their purpose. Rich people have zero impact and continue with violations while the poor bear the brunt of these steep fines.
In India, where one can argue that some people don’t report their income accurately, day fines can be levied on the basis of car’s price as well.
The more amount government collects from violators, the less dependent it can become on taxes.
What’s your thought on this?
