Rita Brent Comedy

Rita Brent is an award-winning comedian, musician, & military veteran. At 18, she joined the 41st Army National Guard Band as a drummer, reaching the rank of sergeant. Her radio broadcasting career began with WJSU 88.5 FM at Jackson State University; she later served as a host & producer at MS Public Broadcasting. She is currently a contributor on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show.

As a comedian, Rita has appeared on Comedy Central, truTV, Circle TV, & more. She’s toured with Rickey Smiley, Cedric the Entertainer, & other giants. In comedy writer, her credits are: GRAMMYs Musicares, People’s Choice Awards, The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor Award, among other major notable productions.
