Documenting the destruction of the Northern N.S.W historic Railway.
Trains that serviced the villages between Murwillumbah ceased decades ago, replaced with the XPT.
This did not benefit any locals unless travelling to the bigger towns such as Lismore, Casino, Sydney… once a day.
To suggest we don’t need transport in this day and age is ridiculous, short sighted and out of touch with our communities.
Flood prone catchment which isolates many, displaced thousands in 2022 floods has the corridor running through & usually out of the water.
New construction began Jan 22, although the train tracks had already started to be removed before commencement date. Hidden from public view.
All hail as we are rail roaded for a RAIL TRAIL…
That meanders through many a property and farmers livelihood’s.
Consultation was not held fairly, nor transparent, a misrepresentation of consent to begin with to ultimately line a few’s pockets - who never rely or have needed TRANSPORT.
