In 2019 this channel will mostly focus on my decision to quit my corporate job and travel the country in my 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Videos will include images of my travels and the experiences I encounter.
I have 2 channels on You Tube. The difference between the two is that this channel will show more adventure videos, have shorter (and to the point) discussions, and lean more toward my experiences involving my Jeep.
The other channel "Into the Unknown" will also show some adventure videos, but I will go into longer discussions, and more in depth, about certain topics like finances, tips and tricks to living on the road, and talking through various activities.
This channel also includes videos of what I have done to my 99 Cherokee XJ, mostly involving storage solutions and other random ideas I have.
Other topics include:
- Product reviews of equipment I have on my XJ
- Organization solutions I use
- Harbor freight and other store purchase reviews

Thanks for following along for the Continental Divide trip. Sorry I am not responding to comments, but I am reading them. Service is poor in most areas, and even when I do have it, either AT&T is slowing me down or my phone is, when it comes to doing most anything. Also, when I do have service, I am trying to upload videos or do other necessary things. I will respond to the questions and comments eventually, but will probably be a while yet.
We just passed through Grand Tetons, on Section 8, and hit out first 2 weeks yesterday. It’s been a great time on the routes!
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
Cheers,
Joel

Finally going on an adventure this year. I will be tagging along with Super Wheelie Overland and heading from NC to do most of the Continental Divide Trail (U.S. Portion only). Over 6k miles and about 4 weeks to do it. Only 4 days left to prepare, but with my set-up that should be plenty of time.

If anyone is thinking of a locker.... I just picked up this Spartan Locker for $212 shipped at RockRidge4wd.com (use code Rock10)
Not going to get a much better deal than that!
I’m not affiliated. Just passing on a good deal 👍

I am working with a friend to come up with some merchandise, not just channel specific, but for everyone that has a sense of adventure. Since I am a simple overlander I would like to keep it in that direction.
We plan on having both XJ, and All Encompassing merchandise (not vehicle specific) so the phrases will fit everyone.
Please vote or leave a comment, even if you have no intention of buying anything. We will start with a couple of phrases and develop the logo from.
If you like the non-channel version of option 2 or 5, leave a comment stating that. Also, if you like more than 1 phrase, just leave the numbers 1-5 in a comment.
Thank you for taking the time to vote!

Update: I’m going to be sitting in the Rapid City, SD area until I get the axle seal issue fixed. I’m fairly certain the bearing has been shot for a while. I tried to fix this myself in the middle of nowhere (huge risk on my part) , but could not get the axle shaft out of the tube. So put it all back together and will need a shop to do it. My guess is a new seal, bearing, and shaft(which may need to be ordered)
This was the last thing I was expecting to go wrong since I had this axle proactively taken care of with all new seals and bearings within the last year. I’m guessing a faulty bearing since I had no issues at all before I had the maintenance done. I will find out soon enough. Till then, I am stuck lol.

Any recommendations near Jackson Hole, WY on where I can get a rear axle seal replaced (Dana 35)?
It started leaking quite a bit and it’s a job I could do myself if I was home, but need a seal/bearing puller and also will need to take off the diff cover (so it will take a while to do it on my own somewhere)
Things happen, and luckily this happened in a populated area :)

Quick update on my whereabouts:
Over the next 2 days I will be visiting Craters of the Moon and Shoshone Falls in ID. From there I am heading to Grand Teton Nat’l Park and crossing through central WY on my way to western SD.
Just spent a couple of days in the Sawtooth Mountains and really enjoyed my time there. I could have spent a week easy checking out the countless miles of dirt roads and trails.

I am in Yosemite with limited cell service and am not sure of my next move. I have two options I am contemplating...
1) Drive way out of my way and head west to above San Francisco and drive the coast to Oregon (which will add a lot of fuel costs) but I would see the coast and the Redwood Forest, amongst other things. This would leave less time for eastern OR and Idaho
2) Drive east through Yosemite and take 395 north to Oregon. I would go through the Lake Tahoe area and be able to spend more time in eastern OR and Idaho
In either case I plan on going to Crater Lakes, OR
Also, I have to be near Rapid City, SD in 4 weeks, so that is the time I have between here and there. I plan on staying in Yosemite 1-2 more days.
I will let the viewers decide! The most votes in the next 24 hours is where I go. If you can leave a comment, please also let me know what I should try to see on the path you choose.
Cheers,

I’ve been exploring California...Sequoia Nat’l Monument & Forest and am now in Yosemite (for how long I have no idea). I have not had a good signal for days and may not for days more. New vids will come out when I do though!
Thanks to everyone who is watching!
