Simple Motions is a St. Cloud, Minnesota–based indie rock trio crafting melodic, catchy, and jangly songs that blend modern indie sensibilities with a vivid streak of eighties nostalgia. Our music has been described as cinematic, something that comes from Avdem’s background as a frustrated filmmaker. After one of our shows, someone actually told us our music sounds like a “1980s John Hughes movie,” and honestly, we’ll take that. Even with our slacker-leaning influences, we’re always writing, always recording, always finding new ways to shape what Simple Motions is becoming. At the end of the day, we’re just fans of music making music—DIY, Minnesota-born, and constantly creating.
