This photo, taken over ten years ago at a breast cancer walk in New York, hit my social media memories yesterday. Seeing her—that younger version of me—I felt an overwhelming wave of gratitude.

My first thought was a simple, profound "Thank You."

Thank you, Younger Diane, for making the choices that allowed me to thrive:

You were a quiet powerhouse, showing up for yourself and protecting my future health and wellness before I even knew I needed it.

You taught me the power of resilience—willing to keep going when others quit, and bold enough to change direction when fear held others captive.

You managed our money wisely, understanding that true confidence comes from within, not from designer labels or expensive cars.

You remained endlessly curious, diligently feeding your mind and soul the nourishment they needed to grow.

You were kind to yourself and others, brave in your thinking, and always, always believed that everything is figureoutable.

I've picked up the baton now. I will honor your effort by taking great care of the Diane who exists today, and the Diane who is still to come. Thanks you!

If you currently don't exercise or you have fallen off, consider starting with a short 10 to 15 minute walk each day, then as you get consistent you can increase it. Think about pairing your walk with another habit like after a meal as this will increase your chance of sticking with it. Eventually, look into adding strength training, flexiblity and balance exercise. And always get clearance from your doctor before starting a new exercise program.

Today I've reached a tiny milestone (when compared to others) in my YouTube journey, yet I am so grateful. I have done hard things in my life, but YouTube is a different thing... It certainly has taken me out of my comfort zone, forced me to pivot, caused me to learn, humbled me, even confused me, while also filling me with purpose and gratitude.
