Ali Namenj Is A Nigerian Urban Hausa Afropop, Afrobeat Singer and Songwriter Ali Jubril Namanjo better known by his stage name Namenj, is a Nigerian Afrobeat musician and songwriter born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
Namenj was born and raised in Ibadan, southwestern Nigeria. His parents are from northern Nigeria; his father is from Kontagora in Niger State, and his mother is from Kano State. Namenj’s parents moved to Ibadan, settling in the Hausa neighborhood of Sabi, where Namenj was born. He had his primary and secondary education in Ibadan. Growing up, Namenj developed a passion for music, listening to western songs by Westlife, Celine Dion, and Dân Maraya. He speaks multiple languages: Hausa, Yoruba, and English. As of 2021, Namenj is studying at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Kano study centre.
