My favorite group of trees at Beals Point, Folsom Lake in California. Have so many paintings of these from different times of day and seasons. And different angles. So fun to paint. If I had to choose, I’d say morning was my favorite time to paint there. Also fun to try to catch the light bouncing off the lake.

After painting outside so many times this past year, I finally became comfortable painting around people. This actually helped my paintings a bit because then I could almost paint anywhere. And it gave me more opportunities to add people and figures into my landscapes to give scale and depth.
