So why goats?

Because the Sahel is getting drier. When crops fail, families rely on goats to survive. They’re food, income… but they also eat every young tree.

Restoring the trees brings those resources back — water, medicinal plants, healthier soil — so people aren’t forced to depend only on livestock.
