So here is what I love and what I don't love about the iPhone 17 Pro Max -
It's been 3 days since I picked up the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I feel like I haven't stopped shooting with it since 📸
What I love -
- The 4x lens is elite. The bigger sensor it's rocking takes it to the next level, and I'm a huge fan of shooting at the 100mm equivalent
- The way it feels in your hand is miles beyond the 16 Pro Max. It feels smoother and more premium
- You never need to check the battery life, it's very, very good.
What I don't love -
- The 8x is over hyped and really not that great.
- After 5-10 minutes of shooting, the phone starts heating up A LOT - hopefully a software update fixes this
- If you're on the 16 Pro Max, the upgrade feels tiny. I know that's just how things are, and if you're on the 14 series or below, then the upgrade will feel huge. But it's not the giant leap we used to see back in the day.
That's my 3-day hot take so far.
If you picked yourself up a 17 series, what do you think?

Megapixels… every photo in this post was shot on the 12 megapixel Sony ZV-E1 📸 This is when megapixels do and don’t really matter 👇
When they do -
✅ You need to dramatically crop your images ✅ When you’re doing large prints ✅ When you’re shooting big commercial projects and your clients may want to zoom, blow up your image or need the finer details
When they don’t -
✅ When you’re only posting on social media / YouTube ✅ When you’re just starting out with photography ✅ When you’re shooting in really low light (lower megapixel counts help with ISO noise)
If you’re just getting started with photography and you’re currently tossing up between a 40 and a 60 megapixel camera, I wouldn’t bother!
You’d be better off spending the extra money on lenses and go for a lower megapixel camera 📸
The Italy video is live 🇮🇹 It's a little different to my normal videos, so I'd love to know your thoughts! I dive deep into photography principles & I break down some of my favourite images from the trip!
I'm filming a Day in the life with the iPhone 15 Pro Max today to see how it's performing 12 months on. Seeing the changes for the new 16 series, this year might be one of the most underwhelming upgrades... 👀 What do you think?

Central Java shot on the 50mm 📸
The more I explore Indonesia, the more I fall in love with it
The friendliness of the people, the incredible landscapes and the seemingly endless adventures make the perfect mix 🇮🇩
This Central Java trip was a blast.
3 days, @lucaepifani , our bikes and our cameras
No set schedule, just searching for incredible spots to shoot
I’ve got a lot of content coming from Central Java that I can’t wait to share with you!

Summer on The Amalfi Coast - Shot on the digital camera that takes unlimited ‘film’ photos 🎞️📸
While this camera handles most scenes pretty well, it thrived with blue water and golden light 🌊☀️
If you want to see why I love this camera, you can do so in this video here - https://youtu.be/La3T48hUu5M
Who else thinks that YouTube needs to increase the amount of images you can upload to these posts... 5 just isn't enough 😅
I've also just finished doing all the voice over for my Italy photography video, which will be out by the end of the week 👀

I’ve fallen in love with shooting in Rome 📸🇮🇹
With so many stunning buildings, sights, lookouts, you name it - it’s hard to not have my camera on me 24/7 😅
The last few days here have been nothing short of perfect weather, giving me some beautiful golden light 😌
Can’t wait to show you what I shot on the G11 next 👀📸

This is currently my travel photography loadout. It covers 99% of everything I need (aside from a small amount of uncropped 4k 60FPS video)
I'd love to know, what's in your travel photography kit?
P.S. I'm editing the video breaking down this kit as we speak!

All of these shots were captured on the Canon G11, which is coming up to 9 years old...
Wild.
The reason I love travelling with this camera is because of the old CCD sensor that gives things a little bit of an older feeling
This is made about 10x more aparent when I use my Filmic Feels Lightroom Presets
And this combo of G11 and the Filmic Feels are a perfect match!
Should I make a little street photoghraphy video while I'm out here in Italy?
Let me know in the comments 📸
