Megapixels… every photo in this post was shot on the 12 megapixel Sony ZV-E1 📸 This is when megapixels do and don’t really matter 👇

When they do -

✅ You need to dramatically crop your images
✅ When you’re doing large prints
✅ When you’re shooting big commercial projects and your clients may want to zoom, blow up your image or need the finer details

When they don’t -

✅ When you’re only posting on social media / YouTube
✅ When you’re just starting out with photography
✅ When you’re shooting in really low light (lower megapixel counts help with ISO noise)

If you’re just getting started with photography and you’re currently tossing up between a 40 and a 60 megapixel camera, I wouldn’t bother!

You’d be better off spending the extra money on lenses and go for a lower megapixel camera 📸
