Mom on the Spectrum

Hi, I’m Taylor. I'm a late-diagnosed autistic mom, creator, and educator learning how to live more gently while getting to know my neurodivergent brain.

I found out I was autistic at 31, and suddenly many of my repeated struggles made sense. That relief and clarity is something I wish I could give to anyone who has been wondering why life feels different for you.

This channel is where we work through shame, drop the mask, and connect with people who understand how overwhelming this process can be. Whether you’re late-diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or still exploring, you’re welcome here exactly as you are.

🎥 ⭐️ New videos premiere most Wednesdays at 2 PM CT.

If you’re wanting more of that feeling of being seen, my Connection Groups are a space for honest conversation and genuine support (links below).

I’m not a doctor, just a human sharing lived experience. Please talk with your healthcare provider before making medical decisions based on anything you see here.

Mom on the Spectrum

No new video or mental health check-in today - I’ve been sick this week and also close to burnout with it being the end of the school year for my kids. 🫶🏻

I’d love it if you want to check out a recent video of mine: The Differences Between Autism and Emotional Abuse. It’s an important topic! https://youtu.be/sJNX_HQZdwo?si=oZciJ...

Mom on the Spectrum

Making friends as an autistic adult can feel complicated.

A lot of spaces feel unpredictable. Fast-paced. Socially demanding. Like you’re expected to know exactly when to speak, how much to share, how to “fit in,” or how to keep up.

And even when you want connection, the pressure of being perceived, put on the spot, or expected to perform socially can make it exhausting before it even starts.

That’s a big part of why I created Connection Groups.

These are weekly discussion groups for autistic adults in a format intentionally designed to reduce social pressure and increase predictability.

You can:
🎧 listen only
💬 use text chat instead of speaking
🎥 keep your camera off
🖐 only participate when you want to

No cold-calling. No forced introductions. No pressure to socialize a certain way.

We talk about things like burnout, masking, relationships, boundaries, meltdowns, work stress, identity, nervous system overwhelm, and everyday autistic experiences with people who genuinely get it.

And now we’ve added a new Saturday option:
🗓 Saturdays at 10 AM CT

Current times:
• Tuesdays at 10 AM CT
• Wednesdays at 12 PM & 5 PM CT
• Saturdays at 10 AM CT (NEW)

If you’ve been craving connection but struggling with traditional social spaces, this may feel different.

Mom on the Spectrum

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the difference between autistic social struggles and behavior that crosses into manipulation, entitlement, or emotional harm.

Because those things are not the same.

As autism awareness grows online, I’m noticing more people using the autism label to explain patterns that may actually be repeated boundary violations, lack of accountability, or coercive behavior.

In today's video (premiering at 2 PM CT), I want to talk about that distinction with nuance and compassion.

This video is not about shaming autistic people. It’s about protecting both autistic people and the deeply empathetic people who often reinterpret red flags through a compassionate lens.

A diagnosis should increase self-awareness — not remove accountability.

You can join me for the premiere today (Wednesday) at 2 PM CT or watch anytime after using this link: https://youtu.be/sJNX_HQZdwo
