I love playing video games, especially the ones that fill me with nostalgia and memories of simpler times.
Video games are much more than just an image on a screen. They're adventures, stories, lessons, challenges... For so many of us video games were the forge in which we built patience, determination, and grit. So much is tied to the games we grew up with. People who aren't gamers just don't get it.
A single scene can trigger a flood of memories, feelings of frustration and joy, struggle and success. They can make us laugh, smile, and remind us of the best times we had with our friends growing up. A single playthrough of a simple game might take us back to a weekend spent at a buddies house staying up all night trying to beat that same game for the very first time, celebrating way too loud when we finally did, and crashing all day the next day because it was 8 AM when we finally won...
