A look at culture, high and low, and why those differences are meaningless.

The Good News: I'm writing about Shakespeare again.

The Bad News: I'm writing about PragerU's takes on Shakespeare.

Experimenting with thumbnails. Thoughts?

The Leftist Cooks are two of the best essayists working right now and their latest deconstructing the common whine of "grow up!" is essential to anyone who wants to be a better person.

Mildred does fantastic work. This latest is a fine, fine piece that I wish I did more on my own channel.

Oh dear.

Oh no.

I thought I could escape and yet I am once again back on my bullshit.

My Shakespeare bullshit.

Civilization VII is out and while I have yet to play it, it's amusing that the design ran with some ideas I floated in this old video I made before Civ VI dropped - particularly the idea that a civilization can change over time.

Many people are angry with this change and have widely regarded it as a bad move.

Whelp, that's another terrible idea I've spat out into the aether. Comment below if you want me to ruin any other video game franchises.

Back in 2020 a small group of us got together to do an informal-yet-highly-organized livestreamed reading of A Midsummer Night's Dream to raise money for mutual aid funds for protestors. The result was Worlds Elsewhere Theatre Company: a non-profit virtual theatre that's been staging online productions ever since. Finances have been low, and this may end up being their last production before shuttering. I'm going to be there at 7:00 PM EST to show support, and it would mean a lot if you did, too.

This Saturday! Worlds Elsewhere Theatre Company will be streaming a live performance of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion - a play all about how markers of class, nationality, and gender are arbitrary and can be learned. February 1st is now Eliza Doolittle day

It was a pleasure to work with Atom Fellows on this wild, harrowing video about the anxiety we feel at the end of a cycle. All of ‪@atomfellows‬ ‘s videos are spectacularly produced and woefully underseen - give them all a watch!

made a playlist of all of my videos where I discuss the various ways that palingenetic ultranationalism is bad and stuff, if you're into that.
