More Than A Birthmark
More Than A Birthmark is a celebration of the lives of individuals living with vascular birthmarks and associated conditions!
My name is Maille, and I am a teenager living with Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome (KTS). Because of this rare condition, I have limb overgrowth, swelling, pain and a large port wine stain birthmark that travels from my lower back to the pinky toe of my right leg. My initiative, ReMARKable you!, is to promote awareness and education about conditions such as my own, and reduce the stigma and bullying surrounding individuals with physical differences.
In this interview series, I speak to individuals living with vascular birthmarks and associated conditions, as well as medical experts. I am hopeful that through open discussion about these conditions, I can shine a light on what life is like living with a vascular birthmark as well as the unique and amazing talents of these individuals.
