I've been laid off twice in my life, most recently in late 2023. Both times were as a dad.

I started a blog about my layoff shortly after my unemployment began. After five months of joblessness, I found work again. But the shadow of my layoff continued not only for me but for those around me. I continue to process what happened through my writing, and now, with a few short videos.

Diary of a Laid-Off Dad is all about reflecting, moving on, and finding meaning to unemployment and all the struggles that come with it. Yes, this topic is difficult to talk about. However, there is also hope, which I intend to infuse as much as possible into whatever this video series becomes.
