DJ Mr. Tsang: A Global DJ Journey
Samuel Derwent Tsang, has been a driving force in the electronic music scene since 1997. Starting with house music in Sydney, Australia, he quickly gained recognition as the resident DJ at V-bar, where he curated an eclectic mix of disco, breaks, and hip-hop. His move to Shanghai marked a new chapter, leading to the release of his debut album, Chinese Lessons.
Known for his genre-defying sets that blend breaks, soul, funk, hip-hop, 80s, and rock, Mr. Tsang has toured extensively across Asia and now resides in Austria. He has performed with industry legends like The Scratch Perverts, DJ Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Krush, DJ Questlove, and DJed for Ghostface Killah (Wu-Tang Clan) in Shanghai.
His club credentials include residencies at Volar Club and The Shelter in Shanghai, and major events like the Electro Grass Shanghai festival and the Battle of the Year breakdancing competition in Sydney Australia.
