Martin Cantu & L-Rey is a contemporary Christian R&B group that infuses its own style of American Latin-Pop, funk, soul, vibes into its music. Led by founder Martin Cantu who is also the former lead singer of the legendary Latin-Rock band Malo the band known for the hit song "Suavecito" This San Francisco Bay Area band brings a unique twist to music all together introducing an old, yet new sound into the Christian music industry. Martin Cantu & L-Rey delivers a message of hope, intent to reach the people at their innermost core. Their unique sound is influenced from bands such as Earth Wind and Fire, The Katinas, Santana and the Motown movement. With music ranging from American contemporary to Latin-Soul, their first CD produced such songs as "Jesucristo" The gospel re-make of Malo's hit song "Suavecito" Their second CD, titled "The Open Door" speaks to the openness of God and joy in a deeper relationship with Him.
