Charles Wright
Charles Wright, an influential songwriter and recording artist, emerged as the leader of the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band in the late 1960s. Born in Mississippi, Wright's Southern roots influenced his blend of soul, funk, and blues. He began his professional music career in Los Angeles, where he merged with the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, and signed with Warner Bros. Records.
