Exactly. I know, some stans get pretty gross, but I’m so hecking tired of seeing “dReAm sTaNs NeEd To STop,” in my recommend for the twelfth time this week. Also, when people make videos like that, it makes a portion of the fandom feel bad for just being associated with those people, and can deter others who might actually have enjoyed being a part of fandom, simply because they don’t want to seem toxic. And then there’s also the toxic haters, but no- one talks about them because I guess that’s not the trend. But that’s just how I personally feel.

True half of the mcyt fandom/community isn't even that bad, I swear a lot of fandoms are way worse than 'Dream stans". You have named a lot of fandoms that are very toxic but the Undertale fandom is disgusting (I hope thats the right word), I have never been in the fandom but I have heard the stories of toxic people doing horrible stuff to others. And yes i know dream stans are "bad people' but half of them are Minors (just like me lol) and some of them are nice, I have met 2 and they are really kind, other stans are toxic. So don't mix them into a group because not all of the mcyt fandom is bad some fandoms are worse :/ (/lh /nm) Edit: sorry I went on a rant lol

i mean let's be real here, one direction fans from like 2014 tumblr were WAYYYYY more worse than the mcyt fandom LMAO. they actually hacked into cameras and stuff. and also the vld fandom is 100× worse than mcyt with all the proshipping, i don't even have to explain the hetalia fandom, and i stay away from dangranronpa's fandom with a 40 ft pole for a reason. and have you guys heard of the rick and morty mcdonalds incident yet?? anyone remember superwholock???
to say the least, a majority of the mcyt fandom is ,, uneducated. inexperienced. theyre young, they haven't experienced the hell that is fandom culture. all they can do is look up to their content creators behind a screen, and they aren't aware that their actions can greatly affect someone else on the internet—whether it be positive or negative.
anyways tldr; there are a lot worse fandoms than mcyt but people haven't realized that yet. i think they're just focusing on mcyt because it's the "big thing" right now, even making money off of clickbait videos about dream stans. it's like how people shame bnha fans LMAO
