It was a really good video. I have worked over 20 years in the denim industry. When I used to work on the sales floor people would constantly ask me are salvage jeans worth the extra money. It was one of the hardest questions to answer. I think you hit every point right on the head. I also was thinking you were talking about Levi’s.

Most of today’s “selvedge “ denims are just a sale gimmicks. I wear Wrangler 47MWZ rigid for less than $40- fades are great and denim is very strong and holds its shape perfectly. If investing a good buck into quality denim - only a couple of Japanese brands

I’ve noticed that selvedge denim doesn’t last as long as regular denim. People constantly talk about blowouts in the crotch area. My first pair of selvedge denim showed concerning wear in the crotch area after 3 months of wearing, but I have had other pairs of regular jeans for years and not a single sign of a blowout. If I’m paying top dollar for a product I want it to last the test of time.
