So I have some stuff to announce. It's now been almost 5 months since I've been done any editing (which is like an eternity for me), or really been online much at all. The past half year of my life has been one of the hardest times of my life, and things have been really tough. I've had to adjust, take care of myself, and focus on other things outside of editing. It was a much needed break- both because of what's going on in my life, and I never really take editing breaks. It's mostly been go-go-go with edits for a decade straight.
I've been so burnt out with MEP parts, plus I've been feeling like I'm losing myself as an editor more and more. I haven't really changed or grown with my editing, and I'm just falling steadily behind the rest of the editing world. I was feeling disconnected and wrapped myself up in MEP studios to make up for it; don't get me wrong I love MEPs and collaborating with other editors, but I need to take a step back.
If I'm going to keep editing, I need to make some changes moving forward. I will be leaving all MEP Groups except mine (DGS), and will take many less parts there in the future. (I will finish the MEP I am hosting for DSST first, as noted on their forum). I'm sure you guys don't really care about this, but for any that might, I hope you understand. This was a tough choice for me to make.
I will also be focusing my edits more on IRL edits on my vlog channel (linked on my Channels if you're interested), as well as just working on my own personal edits and learning more editing programs. I'll also be cleaning up my channel a bit, including deleting some videos- mostly short, insignificant MEP parts that were thrown together. I used to have the mindset that I had to upload everything I edited, but there are many videos on my channel that I'm not particularly proud of, or I even dislike them. I'll be keeping like 90% of my videos though, so don't worry.
This week I finally reinstalled one of my programs (both SVP and AE stopped working right before my hiatus), so I am hoping to tiptoe back into editing as 2020 starts. It was a good break, but I miss editing. I won't be as active as I'm sharing my free time with other things I enjoy now, but I'll at least be back in some capacity.
Again I'm not sure who's really going to care about this, but for those that might, I just wanted to post this as an update and to let you know my channel and editing will be changing. I still have some finished MEP parts from this summer that I haven't uploaded; if I find any worth uploading, I may do so this week.
