Bit of a long post, but important:

Okay, guys, we are in the single digits now! And with that I feel I should bring you some updates because I want to celebrate 10,000, not worry about technicalities.

Firstly, RTX is this weekend and I am flying out to Texas Wednesday morning, so I will unfortunately not get to upload or even work on my milestone until I return home. I have a concept of what I want to use, but as always, suggestions are welcome! I hope to bring more than just the milestone video with this milestone since it’s more than I ever expected to reach! Any additional 10,000 milestone videos will also have to wait until after I return home! Thanks for you continued patience!

Now, for some less exciting talk. As many of you may be aware, YouTube mines through the millions of videos uploaded everyday to the site through an algorithm. And this algorithm changes constantly to accommodate for the new style of content uploaded. This is meant to be helpful and innovative, but many creators have found it to be unmanaged and borderline uncontrollable. It has hurt too many more than it has helped. I’ve watched this from the sidelines for a while, but I regret to inform you that my channel has recently been demonetized entirely. If you’re unaware of how the process works, basically: I post a video with music in it. If YouTube recognizes the song as copyrighted, it demonetizes the video. Sometimes it’ll even block a video from being viewed or give the channel a strike because of it, which just means I have to take the video down. But I don’t always look for popular music to use and I used to have about an 8:1 copyrighted to monetized video ratio. Unfortunately, my entire channel has been demonetized, which means even videos that don’t have any copyrighted music in them have stopped being monetized.

What does this mean? Well, I’ll still be making videos when I can, and I hope to expand my style of editing still too, but with YouTube officially out of my possible income pool, I have had to focus more time into actual outside work. This mixed with recent milestones that have affected my personal life means that, as much as I hate it, I will be posting even less frequently than I have been in the past few months. You’ve all been incredibly supportive of my outside life and making sure I take time to prioritize that, but this goes beyond requirements of life. This has to do more with YouTube being poorly managed, and I hope to see that improve in the future.

But rest assured, I will still be posting as often as I can and I will do my best to keep the quality of the standards I have set for myself, so this will hopefully be nothing more than a slight step backwards in my productivity as an editor.

Thank you all for your continued support, and thank you for sticking with me through the ups and downs of this channel! Here’s to 10,000 and hopefully many more!
