In 78 I was 14 and turned 15. Worked as a grocery bag boy. Along with LP records I had some starwars toys including a x-wing.

I had one identical to this! What a nice stroll down memory lane.

Yes...and I still have it! I painted it with Testors model paint after a few years, and the decals falling off. I wish I could figure out a way to clean it all up the way you did this. I posted your video on a vintage Star Wars collector page, and had huge positive feedback...but some zealots freaked out about it not being original, using repro decals, etc, so they removed my post. I think the work you did was stunning and wanted to share, but you can't please everyone. Loved this one - lots of fond memories.

I wish. I was 7 years old in 1978, but growing up in poverty didn't lend itself to asking for toys.

My dad gave me all of his. They were primarily the Hoth battle. Sadly, the top of the cockpit of my Millennium Falcon has been chewed up by a dog decades ago.

I had both the xwing and the tie fighter... interestingly enough they were both missing a wing... God this brought back so many memories

Yeah, had one of these when they were knew, but I did (and still do) lust after the Millennium Falcon from back then.

I had one, and also with Luke in his pilot outfit. The one you found is actually in pretty good condition.

I had that exact X-wing. I asked Santa for the Tie-Fighter but apparently he couldn't read my 7 year old handwriting.

My brother had the X-wing, I had the TIE fighter. He always got the good guy toys and I always got the villains.

I wanted one so badly...but we were very poor at the time. I got to see Star Wars a New Hope as a present in 1977. We took a 2 x 2 board and nailed two big popsicle sticks to the back of it and that was my X-wing!

I had a Snowspeeder and the 1980 Star Destroyer that came with Darth Vader. Also had a Tauntaun. I was 5. A wee bit too young for the first run of toys.

I was 12 in 1978. I bought the x-wing and the tie fighter. I have them both today with their boxes. Plus a lot of the small figurines.
