Your videos have changed my life. Being aware of my mechanics has made my playing so much better, and given me so much more picking control. I tell all of my students to check out your page.

There's one rising star in the shred community and it's bernth, would be nice to get a slow mo of this guys technique for fast alternate cause he is blisteringly fast and it's pretty much perfect tempo and note wise.

Are there any , "Cracking The Code" episodes about what edge of the pick gets used ? It seems most people , (when they use the typical way of holding the pick) , use the edge of the pick that is FURTHER from the wrist , me included. However , I've seen the other edge used by a guy here in Athens Ga. That's the edge CLOSEST to the wrist of the hand that is holding the pick. Any thoughts on this Troy , or anybody ? 🎸

Troy, you totally impress me, both in amazing hot playing that YOU do, and your incredible efforts in the science of techniques. 1 Question to add. Have you ever studied the so called "Circular Picking Technique?"

Hey troy, i enjoy very much all your work and im very gratefull, Thanks for sharing knowledge for free. How do you think would look like the technique of a person that can play really swing eight notes, with clear rhytmic dinamics and at high tempos, like someone like oscar peterson? . Im really beguining to think that is imposible to play guitar sounding like Oscar, a virtuoso pianist. And i think it is because i cant swing that hard anywhere with alternate picking. But i look to other pianists that got really soft, and straight eight notes articulation, like bud powell, and it result easier, but with more straight eight notes mechanics like most of what i see in your videos. So in trying to play like bud, i try to do more economy (like pasquale grasso, only i dont have a floating hand) and thinking a lot with pickslanting to alternate. So back with my first question. Wich mechanics i need to play like Oscar? If you can and want to answer this coment ill thak you a lot. Cheers

some days I feel like im making progress breaking free from the hopping motion but then some days my picking motion feels wrong and my forearm starts burning.. I've been a fan of yours and aware of pick slanting for years now. I consider myself an immediate player but have always relied on sweep picking and legato to play fast. Definitely a lazy right hand but I feel like thats because of the hopping. Building speed is exhausting
