I love how active of an ally you have been and are still being during this incredibly heartwrenching but important time in our country— and you have inspired me to not be silent and “not know how to help” or “what I can do personally even though I do care” either anymore as an ally as well. Speaking of the BLM movement and it’s literal life saving importance, it is like the inspirational “instruction manual” I think all people in law enforcement should have to watch!!!! Seriously you will love it and the police officers they feature on there (plus the EMTs and Firefighters) are all pretty much native New Orleanians who are so diverse amongst themselves and cover the LGBTQ+. community, former kids of the 9th Ward who are now officers there protecting that community even when they have to chase a few of them down every once in a thirty-minutes lol and also just the LOVE OF THE CITY AND PEOPLE AND SPIRIT OF NEW ORLEANS 💜💜💜💜💜💜 I keep thinking back to it WISHING it was always the officers from those seasons of Nightwatch responding because THEY dealt with life and death on a constant basis and did it with respect, restraint, understanding, empathy.... just SO what I wish everyone had the privilege (literally) of experiencing— oh and also all doing it while I think only one of them firing their weapon ONCE... because the guy they were in a high speed chase with was FIRING AT THEM WHILE DRIVING FIRST and even then the officer is like “man! I shouldn’t have done that! It was too reckless and not contained enough who knows who could have gotten hurt or struck by one of my shots” SO CRAZY INCREDIBLE
