there is no question it’s AD. we saw how good the suns were in the bubble last year, and while cp3’s skill and leadership is definitely an extremely positive asset for any young team, the lakers literally immediately won a championship after trading 3 promising young players (one which immediately became an all star after being traded, which highlights how huge of an improvement AD was for the lakers) for AD, and arguably would be the team facing off against the bucks right now if AD had been healthy.

We saw in the playoffs that the entire lakers defense fell apart without AD. Chris paul is important for the suns but they can manage even without him.

AD got them over the hump last year. He was a beast in the playoffs last year dont forget. We saw what happened when he went down this year. I like CP3 & the Suns but let's be honest, they benefited A TON from injuries this postseason. If there weren't that many star injuries who knows if they'd be in the Finals & we wouldn't be having this conversation

Lmfao the poll is funny. At this point, this is just Monty, Jones, Booker and Ayton disrespect. This wasn't the Charlotte Bobcats before CP3 came. They were decent and without Paul would still be a solid playoffs team. 5-8 seed. Davis move was a bigger landmark for Lakers present and future, whether good or bad.

this year proved LeBron and AD is literally we have, so yeah I gotta go AD

i can’t compare either of them they’re two different situations one team in the Suns was a good team but needed direction and leadership while the Lakers needed a star because the young players were inexperienced

AD because you help the laker become champions. Cp3 has great as he has been they were becoming a competent team in the bubble. Meaning he joined a team that was on the come up, AD was the reason the laker made a come up.

I feel like too many integral pieces along with Chris Paul came

I’m going to say CP3, because while his on court impact is amazing as is, I think he’s also benefitted the development of the other young suns players as well

Definitely is CP3. CP3 is the heart of the Suns but Bron is the heart of the Lakers, AD is more of a Devin Booker

For everybody talking about DeAndre Ayton- Chris Paul helped develop him, even Ayton said so himself. CP3 leads the team and has a well working relationship with Monty Williams, something that is important. Chris Paul took the Suns from maybe an 8-6 seed to the 2nd seed in the finals

AD, he is a better long term investment and in a big market to get him help. CP3 will have like one or two more season great season with the Suns. AD impact is what makes the Lakers offense and defense. But its close, CP3 can generate a better culture and is more consistent offensively. CP3 can transform a team a the short term but AD is a long team investment

It’s a tough one because AD did effectively bring the Lakers a championship. Like there were other factors but AD was the main difference maker. He was the one other star LeBron and the Lakers needed to win the chip. So his impact cannot be questioned. However, I have to give it to CP3. His impact goes beyond talent. When he joins your team he brings in a winning culture and improves all the players around him. AD didn’t have to do that to be fair because LeBron was already that guy. I see AD as more of a weapon. Which is still a good role. While the Suns already had the weapons like Ayton and Booker but needed that veteran leader in CP3. He took them from a struggling team to potentially win the Championship like AD, but he also helped elevate the players around him and influenced the culture. I firmly believe that after this season if CP3 retired or for some reason left the Suns (hypothetically) his impact on the team would probably be enough for them to at least make the playoffs. Especially if Ayton continues to make strides.

CP3 is the reason why some other players look GREAT. One thing AD might not do as well. AD is younger so that’s a plus. But the injuries….imma go with CP3

I love how this highlights two ex-Hornets/pelicans, that franchise has ruined too may franchise players and I hope Zion leaves asap

Without Chris, the Suns wouldn’t have that “father figure” or veteran to help them out, the Suns are full of young pieces, and Chris Paul helped them
