We absolutely love your videos. The Netherlands is a small country but it has many different aspects and cultures that are all interwoven much the way the US is but on a smaller scale. My wife was born in a village by Dokkum in Friesland and we are in contact with her extended family almost weekly. Leeuwarden is the largest city there and if your looking for a place to explore this may be another jewel to explore just a short train ride away. We love it there and spent three weeks in 2019 exploring the extensive bike paths winding through the country side and along the canals, farmland and around the dikes. The attached link is for Leeuwarden which is a great introduction to the area. When you want to get away from the traffic and have a little more elbow room you may find this to be a great escape. Thanks for your videos, Ray https://www.friesland.nl/en/locations/3485605413/11fountains-leeuwarden

Have you heard Floppy by Todd Rundgren? It's an English version of the Christmas song Flappy by Youp van 't Hek. It's realy dark, but 'justice is served' in the end.

I saw one of yr videos when you remarked that the Dutch planned everything with the weather in mind. So this I thought you would like. Maybe, sunbathing is written into Dutch Naval contracts "The sight of a foreign submarine surfacing in the sea is probably not something you would like to see on a day out by the beach. But that’s what confronted people in Cornwall over the Easter weekend, who spotted the hulking warship emerge in Mount’s Bay, near the southerly Lizard Point. The vessel was soon identified as a Dutch Navy Walrus-class diesel electric attack submarine. However, fears for World War Three starting off the British coast were swept aside when eagle-eyed locals noticed the crew enjoying a barbecue topside. The friendly seamen enjoyed the fine weather and watched the sunset before heading back underwater. They even tweeted pictures of themselves feasting on sausages as dolphins swam alongside the sub. The Dutch crew posted pictures of their topside BBQ (Picture: Onderzeedienst Koninklijke Marine/Twitter) Well, it was a lovely day for it! (Picture: Onderzeedienst Koninklijke Marine/Twitter) The seamen enjoyed some downtime off the Cornish coast before heading back underwater (Picture: Onderzeedienst Koninklijke Marine/Twitter) The Dutch crew watched the sunset over the Easter weekend (Picture: Abdel Bakrim/Twitter) Replying to the crew online, local Jane Johnson said: ‘We waved to you from Mousehole and took this photo from our balcony!’ Abdel Bakrim also posted photos of the submarine on social media, and said: ‘Not a sight you expect to see every day. ‘It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a submarine. Hope it’s nothing serious!’ According to one sea watcher, the Dutch submarine is often spotted off the Cornish coast. Kai Greet wrote: ‘Walrus-class attack submarine of the Dutch Navy pictured on the surface in Mount’s Bay, Cornwall, today ‘They’re frequent visitors to the submarine exercise areas off our coast.’ Read more: https://metro.co.uk/2021/04/06/submarine-surfaces-to-enjoy-bbq-off-coast-of-cornwall-14363363/?ito=push-notification&ci=119261&si=28286910&ai=14363363?ito=cbshare Twitter: https://twitter.com/MetroUK | Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MetroUK/

What is a Dutch place/city/event that you have not gone to yet that you would still really love to visit?

@PenWithoutAsword

Did you ever experience the first or last sunny/warm day day of the year where almost everybody either go to parks, forests or 'terrasjes'? P.S. My wife is originally from Ukraine and moved here 8 years ago. She had to get used to all the little customs and how Dutch people can be so direct but she loves it overhere now.

Hi there, Since you are living in The Netherlands for at least more than a year, you probably noticed or heard the "air alarm" or in dutch "lucht alarm" every 1e monday of a new month. Wich is just a test, by the way. What was your first reaction when you heard the alarm ??? And do you have something similar in the US ?
