Once I heard of a girl who freaked when she had her first period because no one had told her about it. She was at a friend's house, and luckily her friend's mother talked about it with her and told her it was normal. That night, the girl's mother rang up furious that the friend's mom had told her daughter about periods. Well, what was she supposed to say to a hysterical tween who didn't know why blood was coming out?

A few years ago I was messing around with cooking and food coloring. At some point during this phase I got my hands on a bottle of really concentrated red dye. Naturally I used it to make a crimson red cake. Once finished baking I offer some to my roommates. A nights later I am awaken to scream at 2am. Roommate 1 in the bathroom. Turns out the the red dye colored his poop red. He thought he was going die. Roommate 2, who is a chef was like. "Oh yeah I should warn you food coloring that do that." After that day I wasn't allowed to mess with the food coloring for awhile.

I found blood ten years ago in my stool. I am a guy. It has been a wild ride ever since, but I went to see a doctor early on and found out I have Crohn’s dissease and ulcerous colitis. Going to a doctor was the best thing I could have done. While being ill limits me on some way, I still have pretty normal life, have a wife, two kids and future. Guys please, go see a doctor if you find blood in toilet. Worst thing that can happen is a false alarm... modern medicine can save your life!

Oof. This hits home. But then again I got a wife and 2 teen daughters so I think my thought process would be, well someone's on, tread carefully.

I had a bladder infection a few years back and peed blood, first time it happened I was at college and thought that I just didnt notice the toilet wasn't flushed, got home and ended up collapsing due to dehydration and then shortly after had bloody pee again and I panicked, thought i was dying or some crap. Fortunately it wasn't a big deal and nothing some antibiotics couldn't solve.

My school taught us about that’s stuff. We watched the video Disney made about it. Yes Disney made an animated video that teaches girls about their period. It’s outdated but interesting.
