@bertjones3010

Greetings W.Rock. Just stopped by to share my 2ยข on a reaction I just looked at - The Dimash SOS shared first time reaction from your drummer friend. I came away a bit disappointed because it seemed to me that you wanted your viewers to share in his first time reaction to Dimash, but I found you spent more time explaining your reaction, seemingly leading him along by your comments. Now if you think about that, while I did get a little bit of his true reaction, I felt that you interjected/influenced this process. It's always great to see a first time reaction. One of my favorites are people's first time reaction to Floor Jansen in her performance of GLS at Wacken 2013 (one of the really great video recordings ever to grace YouTube.) But I find myself put off with the host if they are guiding those reactions rather than just letting the guest have a cold viewing. If one thinks the artist is outstanding enough to share with friends for the first time reaction, the artist should be able hold their own in that process. As an aside, it would be great if you were to look at Floor's new single Fire from this performance - https://youtu.be/rqwHMgo_DdQ Or the song Slow, Love, Slow from her Fall of 2021 solo concert in Amsterdam. I'm really not a Dimash fan. I do love this performance though. But for me he exercises his range in his performances way too much and it comes off like a circus act - a fancy one like Cirque du Soleil perhaps. For me, SOS has some strong emotional musical hooks that the composer has constructed the song with. At this point, I have a general idea of the lyrics but understand none beyond the title. And don't particularly care too. I was introduced to it by a young gifted Italian vocalist Giulia Falcone (whose vocal control reminds me of Floor's). https://youtu.be/fyMkoB29INQ which is how I came to watch these reactions to Dimash - I think only one person has reacted to Giulia's performance - so that adds another reason to show up. I've looked at a lot... excuse me... A LOT of reaction video's of Dimash's SOS. In one particular reaction from an Opera singer, she made a repeated point of saying that she knows whistle and he's not whistling Regardless, his range is extreme and he's good at it. I don't want you to think I'm dissing his talent because he is really impressive. I was also perusing your uploads and noticed you hadn't done any reactions to an PostModern Jukebox. There are some wonderful featured artists like Haley Reinhart and Morgan James. Sure, they're not chart topping big bangers but they put on the best concert I've seen live this century. Everyone seems to love their cover of Creep feat. Haley. Personally I like 7 Nation Army better, but that's just personal preference on my part. I pretty much have liked Haley since 2011. Please recognize that I think musical tastes are subjective, that appreciation of any particular vocalist or performance is in the ear of the beholder. These are just my impressions and opinions. Regards,
