Hello all,

I would like to reach out to the community here with an update and to address a couple things.

The first is my channel's recent benchmark at 10K subscribers. Thank you so much to those of you who tune in to watch my content to help break into the data science field, grow your skills in the field, get that first job, or, of course, learn R. Creating this community, I must say, is one of the proudest things I've done personally or professionally, and it truly is an amazing thing reading the comments that a video or playlist has helped people and/or provided motivation!

That being said, as some of you may have noticed, I haven't been uploading as frequently over the last month or two. The first and biggest reason is the workload at my day job having greatly increased in the last few weeks. I'm currently having to support several shorter-term initiatives at the same time, and it's resulting in some very long weeks. But secondly, I've been experiencing some creative block. I think, if I am being candid, I had hoped for somewhat higher viewership and engagement on some of my content from a few months ago when uploads were more frequent and consistent. However, the beauty of YouTube is that it does allow for rapid changing, experimentation and incorporation of ideas from your audience, complete with robust analytics. But that does amount to a lot of energy, creativity, and time that I just truly haven't really been able to muster as of late.

I guess you could say that, at least as of today, I'm a little burnt out. And I'm not one to force things and push for quantity over quality.

NONE of that to say that I'm quitting the channel. I'm proud of this community and want everyone in it to be successful. I will be on vacation off the grid during the second two weeks of May, and then I plan to come back and re-invest some of my time towards planning and some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that needs to be done with any YouTube content creator. That will include figuring out sustainable ways to produce more content, consistently on a timely schedule without any loss to quality. I think with just a little bit of a break - maybe a month or two or so - I'm going to be able to return to the channel and make it bigger and even better than before.

How you can help in the meantime would really be to let me know in detail or in a list - content ideas that you would like to see, or even the instances in which my content has been the most helpful or entertaining to you. That way I know what to expand upon. You can always email me at richardondata [at] gmail [dot] com. Thanks for understanding and you'll hear from me again soon!
