Hey Richard, how's it going? Your channel is an amazing source for learning, and as data scientist aspirant who uses R as the main programming language, I can say that you are one of the greatest inspirations I have to keep pushing myself, so as long as it's good for you, please keep up because you really make a big difference! Also, I don't really know how well R is doing in terms of popularity, but as the language grows, your channel is for sure going to be one of the big references people will go to. Regarding the type of content, the most helpful ones were, as you would expect, the tutorials, but I also really enjoy listening to you talking about the languages, best packages, your recommendations on how you would do things and so on. Things I would like to see on the channel are maybe a short series of you doing a complete project. Could be simple, like an EDA followed by something else just so we can see how you approach the problems and your way of thinking things through. One more thing would be how to make dashboards in R, I feel like there's way too little good youtube content on that. Third would be how you would organize a portfolio, what types of projects to prioritize and so on. Fourth would be you talking about data science trends in general, I feel like people first come to channels through these types of contents and then stay for other, more informative ones such as the tutorials. I think that's what I had! Wishing you the best and enjoy your well deserved vacation! Hugs from Brazil ;)

Hey man, you have done a great job! It’s all a part of the growth journey, and we’re all on this journey with you. Thanks for the awesome content. I think a good topic to talk about could be, the people that come into data science from other fields (closely related such as IT or BI, or non-related) and fail/quit... why do they fail/quit?

Hi Richard, your videos are very inspirational and have great contents. I am happy I discovered your channel when you had about 2000 subscribers. Good luck with everything!

Hi Richard, I just discovered your channel today. I think it's great you're taking time for yourself! You have a great library of videos so far. I recommend doing some interviews with other data scientists, what type of challenges they have. I think it's also interesting to see some examples on how to deal with certain data sets.

Sir! You SHOULD keep uploading content, this statistics focus opened my eyes...lots of interesting insights. Besides that, it is a SERIOUS YOUTUBE CHANNEL, no jokes, very professional. Has been a long wait since your last video. It takes patience and a lot of effort to build a community of 10K subscribers, you got what it takes to get more. Also, I'll start a statistics course thanks to your advice, I'll keep you informed of my progress. Thanks again.

how about a tutorial on creating a package for R using C and or Python something simple like pass a vector and a number to function in our package and have the function return the vector + the number ? or how about your opinion on some of the edx and coursera courses that teach R and data analysis ? or what is your opinion of certain job requirements ? for example, there's a listing on indeed for Data Analyst, Cancer and Mortality Studies DEPT OF HEALTH/MENTAL HYGIENE Queens, NY and the requirements are "1. For Assignment Level I (only physical, biological and environmental sciences and public health) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health." see that ? it doesn't say masters in computer science, or mathematics or statistics or data science it says "specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health." are they just out of touch ? is this because the employer is the New York City government and its some kind of civil service rule that hasn't been updated in decades ? it seems ridiculous

Hey Richard, I just wanted to add my own words of encouragement. I am a critical care physician in Kingston, Jamaica who has been trying to learn data science to apply to medically relevant questions. I have gotten great value from your videos and I have used them to complete a couple of work-related projects using R. I do understand burnout and needing to find focus, hang in there and I look forward to seeing and hearing more material.

Hello all,
I would like to reach out to the community here with an update and to address a couple things.
The first is my channel's recent benchmark at 10K subscribers. Thank you so much to those of you who tune in to watch my content to help break into the data science field, grow your skills in the field, get that first job, or, of course, learn R. Creating this community, I must say, is one of the proudest things I've done personally or professionally, and it truly is an amazing thing reading the comments that a video or playlist has helped people and/or provided motivation!
That being said, as some of you may have noticed, I haven't been uploading as frequently over the last month or two. The first and biggest reason is the workload at my day job having greatly increased in the last few weeks. I'm currently having to support several shorter-term initiatives at the same time, and it's resulting in some very long weeks. But secondly, I've been experiencing some creative block. I think, if I am being candid, I had hoped for somewhat higher viewership and engagement on some of my content from a few months ago when uploads were more frequent and consistent. However, the beauty of YouTube is that it does allow for rapid changing, experimentation and incorporation of ideas from your audience, complete with robust analytics. But that does amount to a lot of energy, creativity, and time that I just truly haven't really been able to muster as of late.
I guess you could say that, at least as of today, I'm a little burnt out. And I'm not one to force things and push for quantity over quality.
NONE of that to say that I'm quitting the channel. I'm proud of this community and want everyone in it to be successful. I will be on vacation off the grid during the second two weeks of May, and then I plan to come back and re-invest some of my time towards planning and some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that needs to be done with any YouTube content creator. That will include figuring out sustainable ways to produce more content, consistently on a timely schedule without any loss to quality. I think with just a little bit of a break - maybe a month or two or so - I'm going to be able to return to the channel and make it bigger and even better than before.
How you can help in the meantime would really be to let me know in detail or in a list - content ideas that you would like to see, or even the instances in which my content has been the most helpful or entertaining to you. That way I know what to expand upon. You can always email me at richardondata [at] gmail [dot] com. Thanks for understanding and you'll hear from me again soon!
