Pictures, Noise and Words

Hey everybody. We're planning on doing a video discussion on band departures that we never got over. When someone gets replaced and we never came to terms with it. Do you folks have any examples you'd care to share with the world?

Joey Jordison was fired from Slipknot a few years ago and was replaced by Jay Weinberg. I've never gotten over that because they fired him by email with no good reason for doing so.

I have plenty, Xandria, Leaves Eyes and Nightwish just to name a few. Nightwish made up for it by having Floor now. I was also a big Tristania fan and I'm still sad that Vibeke Stene is not with them anymore.

Newsboys, when Peter Furler got replaced by Michael Tait. I thought it's be great, but I just couldn't really get into the new sound at all.

Sylosis. Jamie Graham (lead singer) left. Josh Middleton (till then lead guitarist) took over. He has a deep grunt, but Jamie Graham imo was way better. Had an insane range. The music also changed. It was more atmospheric.

Even though Duvall is great, Alice in Chains isn’t AiC without Layne.

I think obviously the two most famous (or infamous) are Judas Priest when Rob left for those years. And VAN HALEN when they fired DLR. Their next venture with Sammy may have been more commercially successful and they did rock in concert but somehow it just wasn't VH anymore. Eddie has turned into (or maybe he always way) an asshole in how he treats all the people in the band the second they offend his mightiness. He would probably fire Alex if he wasn't his brother. The telling part was when they cancelled their last tour due to no ticket sales. That said everything. Besides his kid was a lousy replacement for Michael. JP on as well sounded fine with their replacement but it just wasn't JP. And with Glen Tipton gone...the band just didn't seem the same. The guy who replaced him is fine. No problem just I guess my being a bit to picky. Same with Ten Years After when they replaced Alvin with some lame idiot named GOOCH with no hair as well. It was awful Sorry but the guy JUST didn't fit and the hair part normally doesn't bother me but in this case it didn't. NOTHING against baldness.
