Ok. Brad I'm the guy that talked to you about what was better acrylic enamel or acrylic lacquer. I said I'd let ya know the end results of both done at the same time, same brand and same color. Of the rustoleum car rattle cans.....and the results were a huge landslide victory for (drumroll)... enamel. Every single aspect was so much better. The main thing I think personally that was the biggest sell by far is full cure dry time. It's been about 2 months maybe a bit longer. And about a week to fully apply finish until it was ready to sit and cure. The enamel was done and ready to buff about a week later till I knew without a shadow of a doubt ok to handle the buffing with no unwanted drama of fingerprints etc. It came out looking like it was done professionally. The lacquer....is STILL not fully cured. Both were done with as little finish as possible so it's not because of over painting and also used the exact same primer which is the same brand as everything else and was a grey filler sandable primer. Everything was as exact as possible or none of this would matter. The lacquer clear cut has a bit of a milky foggy like look to whereas enamel looks perfect like it was a pro finish....moral of the story is, lacquer is a huge waste of time and money. Enamel is exactly what a guitar should be. I only took this long cuz I was still waiting for the lacquer to cure but after 2 plus months, its had more than enough time. Lacquer should just be avoided altogether. I'm pretty baffled as to why anyone would use it as a guitar finish honestly. But there it is man. Thx for the advice before trying this little experiment......and now its time to scrape off the guitar with the lacquer lol
