I feel my wife and I made the best decision in getting a 2021 limited wrx .. if I wanted the ugly interior 11inch screen I’d have gotten an outback lol .. the Rally spirit is sadly lost with that one .

A forester + civic. But I believe it might look better in person. I’d love to test drive this and compare it to the 18 wrx I used to have.

Yeah I can see that, but the last couple of years the WRXs looked like family sedans from all other companies, unless you add mods, then it looked good. So I think their moving in the right direction, but they missed the bullseye

I think that overall I'm most disappointed about the fact that they chose to go with a completely new and different platform, yet it doesn't make any more power than the previous fa20 engine. That to me, makes absolutely no sense other than bs emissions regulations. Now, to be able to justify the price of what the STI is going to be, the output of that engine I expect to be 370 whp\370 tq. I think they got it right with the interior. Although if you want a fully loaded WRX you're going to have to go with an automatic transmission, including the new electronic adjustable dampers. I personally, can live with it BC I have a CVT right now that I've modified to over 300whp, proven on the dyno. From everything I've discovered so far, Subaru seemed to have put more R&D into upgrading their Auto Trans. I know that you can still have fun with the automatic transmission with the right mods. I planned on buying the first year, but I'm personally going to wait until the second year BC I think they are going to do some first-year revisions. I think this car has some potential and to really bring out the absolute best in it, waiting until the 2nd year hopefully the aftermarket will be somewhat established. It won't take many upgrades to get this platform over 300. I'm really hoping that this 2.4l fa24 has the ability to be pushed. The only real problem I can't live with is all of the plastic cladding. Overall though, I personally believe the car has some potential. You have to look at it from a marketing standpoint. For the price, and for everything you're getting for the money, just under $40,000 fully loaded what more could you really ask for nowadays? It's quite obvious to me now that Subaru cares more about making money and cutting costs wherever they can, then really listening to their loyal customers and to the people that spend their hard-earned money on these cars. All I can say is that they better hit it out of the park with the STI. We all know that price tag is going to be $50,000 Plus

I would want to see it in person and test driving it before judging

I swear to god it's the wilderness version of my mom's Civic. Kinda blows though, I was thinking about buying one once my '13 WRX is paid off. That's when they were rumored to be getting bumped to 300 HP and 400 in the STis with the new engines. It has like 3 HP more than mine and looks like it needs to be in a jungle. Ugh.

It will probably somewhat grow on people, but they definitely made some questionable choices.

Oh man, I am NOT sure how to feel. The first thought that came to mind was CIVIC. What do you guys think about the 2022 WRX reveal?
