If I were to hypothetically film my much requested *HAGGLING* video, what would you particularly want to find out? đź’¸

On top of what's already been said: 1. how to judge something's price (in general) to see if it's even worth haggling on 2. knowing when to walk away

I would like to know what is acceptable for haggling and what is considered rude. I’m from rural part of the US and we have some haggling/bartering at flea markets and such but it is usually just a “This is my price, pay or leave “ kind of thing.

1. How to test the water and see if haggling is an option. 2. How to get a lower price without offending the seller. 3. How to know when it's breaking point and the seller won't go any lower.

What are some signs/situations where you should avoid haggling? Tips for keeping it friendly and good-natured when you do haggle?

@Shibouu59

How much homework should you do before haggling? I assume you'd do a better job haggling if you knew more about the thing you're haggling for, but I'm curious to know when you've found the act of doing research beforehand to be most important.

I’d love to learn how to respond to some people who get angry or annoyed or make condescending comments. I try to be very respectful and polite but sometimes vendors have made snide comments and I get really anxious and don’t know how to respond. I just want to apologize and I feel so awkward! So just easy phrases if you have any that are like, “oh I’m sorry, I thought I saw different prices online” or like “oops my bad I guess I don’t know that much about vintage cameras!” I don’t know if that made sense but maybe you have some tips!
