Posted this on twitter but in case you don't follow me (@CYMotorsport) here is a quick onboard of the Leclerc incident in the more unfiltered, unedited style I post there: soapbox.wistia.com/videos/QYMDWcQ1jF

Let me know if you want more of these here as well below.

@JudeBlackwell740

Apparently Netflix are filming with Ferrari this week if they get it right this could be one of the best dts episodes

@obi-wankenobi5446

I originally thought he may of done it on purpose to protect his pole but that thought went away quickly

@zizi05105

The first thought when I saw he hit the barriers was he really did it on purpose. Seeing this makes me having 2nd thoughts

@Adithya13303

I really don't get how people think he did that on purpose? If he completed the lap he'd be at worst P4 and we know the Ferrari has the upper hand over the field in the final sector so there was a slight chance that he could have retained the pole. There are easier ways to bring out a yellow and stop the session in Monaco (2 different German champions did it before), doing it this way is completely daft and stupid because he's getting a 5 place drop for a gearbox and even worse if the chassis is f-ed up he's starting from the pit lane.

@tunayurtsvn

And people out here comparing this to crashgate lmao

@cassandranugent2443

Honestly I wasn’t suspicious in the slightest. It looked like he thought there was more to gain in that corner when his tire was perilously close to the barrier on his previous hot lap

@thedeamonmeteor69420

This is NOT done in purpose. You have to be even stupider than Baku 2019 to crash in purpose like that because it will cause major damage and probably a gearbox penalty.

@tesseract_uk

if he wanted to do something like this on purpose he could have just done a Rosberg into Mirabeau or Nouvelle he didn’t need to risk damaging his car. we’ve seen verstappen wipe himself out there before and ruin his weekend

@MrDeez1111

You haven't posted another video but it's me lol I believe I called it because cheko won a race. I really really really really really really really think that I hit the nail on the head. For being such a newbie in the sport I think that the analysis and all the data in my head came to fruition when I said cheko would win a race. Now I know people will say well what about the tires and this and that everything else but the bottom line is a race is a race is a race. Checko won a race and I said he would win a race and everyone told me he wouldn't Or at least it would be a long time until he did. Thank you very much

@sameershaik8934

Hi, thanks for the on boards. I too believe that it's just an accident. Assuming that this is not done on purpose, should there be any penalty in such cases?? (Assuming the driver retains his quali position). Doesn't it seriously hamper others chance for a better race. Is there any difference b/w this and hitting someone in a race?

I'm a tifoso and was watching along with a RB friend. When LEC crashed I "screamed" crashgate as a joke, but I got a legit thought that he may have been done this on purpose. Then as we talked my friend thought about damage to the gearbox that could send LEC 5 places behind. So yeah, I think it was purely accidental cause there's no way you could risk 5 place penalty in order to gain 2 or 3 places. And yeah, mole is important in Monaco but: - VER has been constantly overtaking HAM on race starts this season, so this one will be extra hard on LEC. - Monaco is also mostly won in the pits, and although they still didn't do crap as in 2018 to 20, Ferrari are way behind RBR in this area. - Do not forget about the Russian mobile chicane.
