For sh*ts and giggles, this is a Dyson Airwrap curl on a damp section of my natural texture. This is exactly how I expected it to look as even my hottest curling tools, like my clipless curling irons, are not going to smooth out a tight curl. Like, I’d never try to curl an old wash and go. If your hair is wavy with very little curl or straight when wet, it will enough but I’m not going to get a smooth curl without smoothing my hair in some way first. You could perhaps use a brush on small pieces and smooth the hair out first, but that to me seems extremely time consuming and your roots probably wouldn’t be smooth anyway.
